Habits

We are creatures of habit. We habitually go through our day, from waking to sleeping,
unconsciously getting up in the morning, brushing our teeth, eating the same meals, going to work, sitting in the same place when we relax, etc.

Our brain loves habit because it can predict what is going to happen. Prediction creates certainty, allowing the brain to work less and conserve energy while it keeps us safe.

Habits get pushed into automation and, because you don’t have to think about it, you find you are automatically reaching for that glass of wine, cigarette, vape or favourite snack!

The habits initially may have relieved stress and reassured you but before long the habit itself has taken over your life!

It no longer serves the same purpose and you become a slave to the habit.

You are running a program unconsciously as if hypnotised.

-Imagine not being controlled by food/cigarettes/vapes

-Imagine stopping the self harm of skin picking/nail biting/scratching

-Imagine living without the added stress of your habit.

-Imagine being confident enough to navigate situations calmly

-Imagine being free from the guilt or shame
